Privacy Policy
At Pipeline Surfer, we are deeply committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining the highest standards of data security. We understand that your trust is fundamental to our relationship, and we take our responsibility to safeguard your personal information seriously. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, process, and protect your data when you interact with our platform, services, and website. By using Pipeline Surfer’s services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy and consent to our data practices as described herein.
When you create an account with Pipeline Surfer, we collect essential information such as your name, email address, company details, and billing information to provide you with our sales pipeline and deal tracking services. We also automatically collect technical data including your IP address, browser type, device information, and usage patterns to optimize your experience and ensure platform security. Additionally, as you use our features like team collaboration tools, pipeline tracking, and analytics, we may collect data about your interactions, preferences, and workflow patterns. This information helps us personalize your experience and improve our service offerings to better meet your needs.
We use your personal data primarily to deliver our core services including sales tools, analytics dashboards, and team collaboration features. Your information also enables us to communicate with you about service updates, security notices, billing matters, and new features that might benefit your workflow. We may analyze usage patterns and performance metrics to enhance our platform’s functionality and develop new features. Additionally, we use your data to provide customer support, resolve technical issues, and ensure compliance with legal obligations and our terms of service.
Pipeline Surfer protects your information with encryption in transit (TLS) and encryption at rest at the storage layer through our infrastructure providers. Access to production data is limited to authorized Pipeline Surfer personnel for the purposes of operating, supporting, and improving the service. We rely on SOC 2 Type II certified providers for authentication, hosting, and payment processing; you can review the current list on our Subprocessors page. In the unlikely event of a data breach, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities promptly as required by applicable laws.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. We share data only with trusted service providers who help us deliver our services, including authentication, hosting, and payment processing. The current list is available on our Subprocessors page. We may also disclose your information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition. When sharing data with third parties, we require them to maintain adequate security measures and to use your information only for the specified purposes.
You have full control over your personal data. You can access and update your account information at any time through your Pipeline Surfer dashboard, and export your pipeline data on demand. We retain your data for as long as your account is active; we do not automatically delete data after a set period. To close your account and request deletion of your data, please contact us at [email protected]. For users in the European Union and other applicable jurisdictions, you have additional rights including data portability, the right to object to processing, and the right to lodge complaints with supervisory authorities. We respond to all data subject requests within the timeframes required by applicable privacy laws.
Google Calendar
Pipeline Surfer can put your tasks into your Google Calendar. This is optional and off until you turn it on in Settings > Google Calendar, where you connect your Google account and choose one of your calendars. When you connect, Google asks you to allow Pipeline Surfer to see the email address of your Google account, to see the list of calendars you have, and to see, create, change and delete events on calendars you own.
We use this access only to show you which Google account is connected, to let you choose a calendar, and to keep the open tasks on deals you own in that calendar as all-day items on their due dates, adding, changing and removing them as your tasks change. Pipeline Surfer only works with the items it puts in your calendar, which it recognises by a private tag; it does not read, change or delete your other events, and of your other calendars it sees only their names. What it writes there comes from Pipeline Surfer: each task’s title, the deal’s name, the task’s details and a link back to the deal.
We store only what the connection needs: the email address of the connected Google account, the name and identifier of the calendar you chose, when it was last updated, and the access token Google issues for the connection. The token is encrypted before it is stored, and is kept with our authentication provider (see our Subprocessors page). We do not keep a copy of your calendar or its events.
We do not sell information we receive from Google, use it for advertising, or use it to develop, improve or train artificial intelligence or machine learning models, and our AI assistant does not see it. We do not share it with anyone except as needed to provide this feature, to comply with the law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with your information kept under this policy. People at Pipeline Surfer do not read it, except with your permission, to investigate a security problem or abuse, or where the law requires.
You can stop this at any time. Disconnect in Settings > Google Calendar removes the items Pipeline Surfer added to your calendar, tells Google to revoke our access, and deletes the stored token and connection details. You can also remove Pipeline Surfer’s access from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. If you close your Pipeline Surfer account, the stored token and connection details are deleted with it.
Pipeline Surfer’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Slack
Pipeline Surfer can send you notifications in Slack. This is optional and off until you connect Slack in Settings > Slack, which adds the Pipeline Surfer app to the Slack workspace you choose and turns Slack notifications on. When you connect, Slack asks you to allow Pipeline Surfer to send messages as the app and to start direct messages with people. Pipeline Surfer does not ask for, and cannot use, access to read your messages, channels or files.
We use this access only to send you, and only you, direct messages from the Pipeline Surfer app: when a teammate @mentions you on a deal (who mentioned you, the deal’s name and the note), when a teammate makes you the owner of a deal (the deal’s name, its stage and its next task), and each weekday morning with the tasks due on deals you own (each task’s title and its deal’s name). Each message has a link back to Pipeline Surfer. Once sent, a message is held by Slack in your Slack workspace, under Slack’s privacy policy and your workspace’s own settings. Nothing is read back from Slack, and nothing done in Slack changes anything in Pipeline Surfer.
We store only what the connection needs: the name and identifier of the connected Slack workspace, your Slack member identifier, the identifier of the direct message conversation, a short record of which notifications have been sent so that none is sent twice, and the access token Slack issues for the connection. The token is encrypted before it is stored, and is kept with our authentication provider (see our Subprocessors page). We do not keep copies of the messages.
We do not sell information about your Slack connection, use it for advertising, or use it to develop, improve or train artificial intelligence or machine learning models, and our AI assistant does not see it.
You can stop this at any time. Turning off Send Slack notifications in Settings > Slack pauses the messages. Disconnect deletes the stored token and connection details; messages already sent stay in Slack, where you can delete them. A Slack workspace admin can also remove the Pipeline Surfer app from the workspace in Slack, which ends its access there for everyone. If you close your Pipeline Surfer account, the stored token and connection details are deleted with it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, services, or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or through prominent notices on our platform before the changes take effect. We encourage you to review this policy regularly to stay informed about how we protect your privacy. Your continued use of Pipeline Surfer’s services after policy updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us at [email protected].
